Overview

Pastry Fundamentals is a hands-on, skills-focused workshop designed to introduce and solidify foundational pastry techniques for aspiring chefs and working professionals looking to upskill or retrain. The classes will be held once a week for four weeks. The participants will receive a recipe workbook relevant to the lessons with bonus supplemental recipes.

Bakers and Savory Chefs without pastry experience
Working pastry chefs looking to expand their repertoire or revisit techniques
Culinary students or career changers seeking a pastry foundation

Trainers

This program is led by Asia Mahealani McDonagh (Owner of Mahealani Pastries, Irish Pastry Champion 2025, Alumni Ambassador in Ireland of FERRANDI-Paris Gastronomic school).

Course fee

The fee for this course is €780 per participant, €500 for those eligible* for funding by The Rural Food Skillnet.

* Skillnet Ireland funding IS available to private businesses including Sole Traders based in the Republic of Ireland. Skillnet Ireland funding is NOT available to public sector bodies or organisations that are publicly funded such as community-based not-for-profit companies or charities.
